I know your likely thinking that making a video for your business is something that you could never do yourself. For most people who attempt to make a video, it stirs up quite a bit of fear and anxiety. Video marketing can be scary!

This is because most people don’t know anything at all on the subject of how to make a video and for the most part may not understand the importance of having a video for their business.

The question is, Why do I need to make a video for my business anyways?!

There are many reasons why you should have at least one video, or perhaps even more videos created for your business depending on what products and services your business offers. In an ideal situation all related products or services offered within your business should have a video.

Video marketing trends show that there is a high volume of sales being made through promoting products and services with videos. There are tons of video marketing infographics that show the stats so I won’t go into this here, but you can have a look at the slides below to get the idea of what is happening online with videos.

This allows you to highlight each product or service within a video and place a call to action for them on the video that encourages them to visit your landing page on your website. This is where you talk in detail about the individual quality and details of that particular product or service.

From there the potential customer can take action by purchasing your product/service, or they can sign up to your mailing list.

You don’t think so…take a look at the slides below. You’ll see that video marketing statistics clearly show that traffic to your website can greatly be increased, just by focusing one of your marketing initiatives on having more video visability for your business.

Making a video for your business is easy. Make it a part of your online marketing plan.

There are so many tools available online these days to make awesome videos that even if you have no experience at all you’ll still come out looking like a pro. We’ll go over the exact steps in another post.

For now the first thing you need to do is make a script outlining the key points you want to address in your video.

You’ll need a few related images to place throughout the video and now is a good time to craft a super call to action graphic that will encourage visitors to either buy your product or sign up to your mailing list.

From here you’ll need to pick your main targeted keyword for your video and some related keywords for the description box area.

Go ahead and do that now. I’ll wait…

Once you have your script and keywords ready here’s some video marketing tips to follow:

Step 1 Make Sure Your Script Is Focusing On Your Main Targeted Keyword
Step 2 Get Your Related Images Ready To Load Onto Your Video
Step 3 Make Your Professional Video Using An Easy To Use Software Program
Step 4 Upload Your Video To YouTube & Other Video Sharing Websites
Step 5 Place Your Main Keyword In Your Video Title
Step 6 Place Your Main Keyword In Your Video Description
Step 7 Put Your Website URL At The Beginning Of Your Description Using the http://www. format
Step 8 Put Some Related Keywords In Your Video Description Making Sure To Also Use Your Main and Related Keywords As Tags
Step 9 Monetize Your Video With A Call To Action and Annotation Notes In Prime Areas
Step 10 Promote Your New Video On Your Website, On Social Media Sites, etc.

A video needs to show people why you should be trusted as a company and why people need your products or services.

It doesn’t matter if you portray this by creating an animation video, a doodle video or a high class explainer video. The end result should be professional with no spelling errors, no usage of copyright images or audio, and no direct selling if possible. Leave the selling for when the potential customer clicks to your website.

Once they arrive at your website keep in mind these two things:

1. What do your products and services offer to your customers that will make their life better?
2. How will it make someone’s life easier if they spend money on what you are offering them?

Be CLEAR once you have captured their attention through video marketing. This is where you make the sale or capture the lead, so make sure that you have a well thought out video marketing strategy!

After seeing your video the viewer should then be directed to either a squeeze page to get a free report in exchange for their email address or a landing page that offers a wealth of clear information on what they are looking to purchase, with a few buy now buttons showing that are easily accessable so that they can buy.

With making your videos it will sometimes be difficult to come up with some clear marketing ideas. You can always watch what other people in your niche have put online and follow a similar video marketing plan. By doing this you will start to see that brands all have their own spin on how they present their marketing and you can start to think of what you need to do with yours, keeping in mind that you need to be original with your own content.

Spreading your videos out everywhere online is not necessary, nor is it a good idea to spend time and/or money with sites that do not resonate with your type of business. You should try to use tools that will automate the display of your videos and if using videos for advertising make sure you put your ads in front of people that are likely to care about them and interact with your company.

For example, if you have children’s clothing, then you’ll want to think of places to put your video ads that have parents visiting. Look for groups to market to with your videos.

Another example, don’t spend your time and money sharing your videos for kid’s clothing on a gaming website/app where kid’s play games, where the viewers are playing games and don’t care about what they wear. That only makes sense I know but you’d be surprised at how many people place ads without even knowing where their ads are showing up.

That…and also kids won’t be making the purchase decisions online so your wasting time and money in the wrong marketing areas.

A better option if paying for video ads is to look for mommy groups, pregnancy groups, raising your toddler groups, and on and on.

Video marketing can be very helpful in spreading the word about your company. There are plenty of people out there that will watch ads if they are in the right places. People these days love watching videos and are more apt to seek out a video review of the products and services you are offering before they buy.

Make sure that you use what you have learned above, it can make it easier for you to reach out to potential customers and keep the interest of existing customers.
